Many young ladies in society today tend to reject their mothers and the input and advice mothers offer. Our mothers, however, are the best friends and confidantes we could imagine. They have lived longer than we have, and are therefore wiser. Although your father is also a wonderful person to confide in, mothers sometimes understand more when we need womanly sympathy.
One way to nurture your relationship with your mother is to co-author a journal. I have done this with my mother for years. You write in the journal each day, and after each entry return it to your mom for her to write back. There some things that are easier to write rather than say, and a mother/daughter journal is one way to make sure the other will get the message.
Purchase a lovely, feminine journal for the two of you, and maybe even a pretty pen to match. It is always easier and more pleasant to write when your writing instruments are attractive, rather than a regular school-type notebook.
Roses and Teacups offers many beautiful, maidenly journals, as well as a large selection of pens.
